Cheoneunsa Temple

There is an interesting legend about Cheoneunsa Temple. When Japan invaded Korea over 400 years ago, the temple collapsed in a fire. When the people rebuilt this temple, they killed a large serpent that often appeared in the spring, and water no longer springed out of the spring. So they changed the name of the temple to Cheoneunsa Temple, meaning that the spring was hidden. Since then, mysterious fires and disasters have taken place. Upon hearing the news, Lee guang-sa, one of Korea's four most famous calligraphers, wrote the words 'Jirisan Mountain Cheoneunsa' on the framed board and hung it at the gate. Since then, no more disasters have been reported.
